The Great Northern Town Center has a new breakfast and lunch offering and a delicious one at that! The Last Creperie opened their doors on December 3, 2013, offering savory and sweet crepes, homemade soup, salad and espresso. All crepes are handmade, prepared to order and absolutely tasty! Hours are 7am – 4pm on the weekdays and 8am – 3pm on the weekends. The Creperie is located at 855 GN Blvd, on the Bicentennial Plaza, three doors north of the hotel, across from the AL Swanson Gallery.
I’ve eaten crepes in Paris and in 4 star New York and California restaurants. Jeff’s crepes in Helena are the best you can get AT THIS PRICE POINT– world wide. Start with his espresso. He and most of his “kids” are meticulous about them. Why anybody would go down the street to the green “siren” escapes me, when they can get REAL espresso here. Not all Jeff’s baristas are equally talented, but even factoring in a little inconsistency, they beat SB’s consistent mediocrity every time!
Now, to the crepes. Not all crepe fillings are created equal. If you like bland ham & eggs, order it. Jeff’s ingredients are the best, the price is right, and in my experience, its better than the same order placed in Paris. If you want to charm your palette, order the daily special, or the four berry, or the Crepe Dylan. Jeff’s a master chef, and his ability to delicately spice and flavor is worth asking for. So, you can order the menu crepes providing quality for a good price, or you can ask for something special (if available that day). Either way, you should go away happy.
